Antoinette Carolyn Brooks

Antoinette (Annette) Brooks was born October 20, 1955 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Juden Sanders and Tonnie Sanders. While residing in St. Louis, Annette attended the public-school system during her primary years. At an early age she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. Annette and her family relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada where she attended Rancho High School and was a part of the graduating class of 1973. Annette made True Love Missionary Baptist Church, her church home in the city. Annette was a fighter. She fought for her freedom, her independence, her family, and most of all, her children. Annette was a loving mother to four amazing children. She loved being a mother and took pride in being a provider for each of them. Annette worked in telecommunications at Centel Phone Company, AKA Sprint. After working for many years, she retired and took up the hobbies of cooking, shopping, taking care of others in need, and traveling. Traveling was one of her favorite pastimes. Annette had the gift of giving and talking "mess." Annette was never not short on words or making you understand what she was talking about (try her if you're bad). Annette lived a good life. She leaves to celebrate her beautiful life two sons, Bennie James Brooks II and Cleavon Brooks; two daughters, Ja Niece Smith and Da Niece Dixon; eight grandchildren, Breeshana Brooks, Savannah Brooks, James Brooks, Tamera Brooks, Olivia Brooks, Amare Brooks, Maurice Brooks, and Charles Porter; two great-grandchildren, Josephine Brooks and Joel Brooks, all of Las Vegas, NV. Four godchildren Soretta Dew, Frances Jefferson, Ryahnn Jefferson and Justin Jefferson; three brothers Juden Jefferson; three brothers, Juden Sanders, Jr. (deceased), Cordell Sanders, Kennedy Sanders, and three sisters, Pamela Burns, Clyda Sanders and vickie sanders; and a host of other loving family and friends. Goodbye Is Not Forever When you lived your life for others and you loved without condition— when you made so many laugh and your smile won’t be forgotten— when you left behind an empty place that no one else can fill— when the friendships that you shared long to be renewed— when you built your life on hope, and fulfilled it every day. The footprints that you left behind will bring us face to face, so goodbye is not forever, you’re only steps away.
