Bernell Emil Bryant

A Celebration Of Life Bernell Emil Bryant was born to the union of Bernell Bryant and Catherine Marie Harris on January 4, 1961 in San Diego, California. He completed his elementary and secondary education through the San Diego Unified School District. After high school graduation, Emil as he was affectionally known to his friends and family joined the United States Navy. Emil was honorably discharged from the Navy after several years of serving his country. His passion for knowledge contributed to him becoming a lifelong learner in various fields of study. Emil loved life and lived every day to its fullest. Being in his presence was a like a never ending celebration. He was truly a charismatic man who drew people from all walks of life to him through comedy, dance, love, off key singing and his amazing smile. Emil’s passion was family, friends, and cooking. He loved spending quality time with his sons, grandchildren, family, and friends. I guess you could say, Emil was our male version of Madea. He believed in having soul food style family dinners and making everyone feel welcomed, comfortable, and at home. Emil loved to dance and would be seen at numerous events participating in dance offs. The Party Didn’t Start Until Emil Walked into the room. It didn’t matter if you were blind, crippled, or crazy, 18 to 80 whoever dared to challenge him, Emil was always up for the battle and refused to be outdone. He was truly the epitome of the statement that “age is only a number.” Although Emil loved to party, he was a devoted Christian who loved God with all of his heart. Regardless the ups or downs in his life, Emil always praised God for everything. He was preceded in death by his Parents: Bernell Bryant and Catherine Marie Harris; Son: Marquis Emil Bryant; Siblings: Amir (Aaron) Shabazz, Marinell Duciaume-Pinkney, Carolyn Gregory, and Christopher Bryant. He leaves to cherish his precious memories, two sons, Reginal E. A. Bryant of Midland, TX; Kelvis E. S. Bryant (Marie) of Las Vegas, NV; two granddaughters Kimya Bryant and Aniyah Bryant of Las Vegas, NV; four brothers: Earnell Bryant of Oklahoma, Kermitt West II, Muffasa Akintunde, and Denzole Harris all of San Diego, CA; four sisters Colleen Lamothe of Dominican Republic, Melodean Young, Cassandra Bean, and Renee Newsome all of San Diego, CA; Ex-wife and Best Friend, Esther Junior of Las Vegas, NV; Special Friends Anita Green , Chris Grinston, Cassandra Edwards, and Lisa Todd all of San Diego, CA. Special Thanks To Nieces Bettina James of Bakersfield, CA, Carmil Gregory and Aamira Williams of Las Vegas, NV; Nephews Milton Gregory of Los Angeles, CA and Dimitrous Chattman of San Diego, CA. Emil will also be cherished by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
