Erika Lashon Bruce

Today we honor the life of Erika Lashon Bruce who was born on May 16,1981 to her lovely parents Verna Scott and Leon Bruce. Erika grew up in Los Angeles ca where she attended Rose City High where she met the love of her life Yan Samual. Erika and Yan found out they were expecting their first child. Jaylen Samuel was born on March 1,1999. Shortly after Jaylen had arrived Erika graduated from Crenshaw high School in the year of 2000.A few years later Tyana Samuel arrived on September 13, 2002.Erika dedicated her life to her family. She was truly an amazing woman who had a heart filled with gold and bought many people together. Erika sacrificed more than you’ll ever known throughout life, but that didn’t stop her from wanting to become successful and driven. Erika and her family moved to Pasadena to start a new life. In 2007 Erika and her family moved to Victorville to try a new atmosphere and scenery. She attended Victor Valley College majoring in Criminal Justice and attended Barstow Community College for Photography. Erika and Yan got married on February 2, 2016.Futher on throughout the years Erika decided to relocate to Las Vegas in 2018 where she resides. Erika had many trades in the work field, but her profession was driving the city, school and tour busses. While working at Arrow Stage Line allowed her to travel from state to state with NBA, WBA, Band teams and so much more. Erika was loved by many but only close to a few. Erika passengers and coworkers loved being around her. Although, she spent many days and time away from home she was never too tired to love on her grandbabies and family. Erika was the hardest working, passionate, caring and loving, humorous stubborn woman you would ever meet. Besides spending time with her family Erika loved trying new foods, eating her ice, listen to music, shopping, fashion, playing spades and dominoes let us not forget talking mess and travel across the world. Her favorite words were “You can’t make this shit up” ‘’I’m irritated” “On God” that was her go to words. A cherished memory that she couldn’t experience was completing her dreams that she shared with loved ones. Erika departed from this life on January 14,2025 at the age of 43 years old. Erika leaves behind a loving Mother Verna Scott and Father Leon Bruce, Husband: Yan Samuel, Son: Jaylen Samuel, Daughter: Tyana Samuel, Three Grandchildren: Kaleesia Samuel, Kamarie Samuel-Dixon, Kyrie Samuel-Dixon and a host of family and friend that she loved dearly.
