A dedicated believer in Christ, LaNae understood that the day of her death would be better than the day of her birth. On January 8, 2020, her faith was realized when she took her last breath, left her worn out body, entered the gate of heaven and met her Savior Jesus. Now she is clothed in immortality and has perfect rest, having ceased from earthly labor. Family and friends left behind can only imagine her joyful bliss, and even while we are happy for her, we seek God’s comfort in our sorrow. Beautiful LaNae—we wanted just one more day with her, to hear her infectious laugh one more time, that boisterous sound announcing her entrance into a room, causing us to smile and say, “LaNae is here.” We wanted to tell her, one more time, that we loved her, that she made our day brighter. She was very dear to many people, a one-of-a kind, unique individual. Harsh struggles and challenges formed her colorful character and she used her life-lessons to help equip others in their hardships. LaNae never withheld her love, determination or laughter even as she fought the disease that drained her strength. This wonderful woman was born March 24,1954 at St. Mary’s hospital in Reno, Nevada and raised in the city of Sparks with her younger siblings. Some of her fondest childhood experiences centered around horseback riding, swimming at Oppio pool and spending time with Grandpa and Grandma Daugherty at 737 10th Street. When old enough to work, she was hired as a server by Bob’s Big Boy in Reno. During the 1970’s she worked at the Peppermill restaurant, developing a large, loyal following. She had a gift for making people laugh and excelled in the restaurant industry for years. In the late1990’s she moved to Las Vegas and started her own cleaning business. The numbers of days LaNae lived is but a mist, yet her experiences, life lessons, and triumphs have become a spiritual legacy that memorializes her life even as it inspires us. She learned compassion at an early age, frequently helping others who were abused or kicked down by adversity or mistreatment. She was always ready to witness the love of Christ with a stranger, sharing hope with people she met in stores, restaurants, gas stations—you name it. She also supported stray, unwanted or abused animals, often donating her time and energy to organizations that sheltered them. LaNae’s love for her children and grandchildren was ferocious and dependable. She spent her life lavishly on them, dedicating her heart to their welfare, enriching them with her belief in Christ. She gave them an inheritance of love—it proved greater than any worldly riches or worldly success. Oftentimes she took a car load of children to church and treated them to lunch afterward. She was very involved in the academic and extra curricular activities her grandchildren pursued. With the fervor of a sports announcer, she regaled the highlights of their football, cheerleading, and fashion design pursuits. With great hope she prayed for the life of her premature grandson, enlisting the help of many to pray that he would thrive. When she first held him, her eyes marveled at the little miracle in her arms, and marveled again, years later, when he was given the gift of hearing through technology. Her zealous promotion of her sons, daughters, siblings and friends will be sorely missed. If she could say anything to console her grief-stricken family and friends, it would be: “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39 NIV LaNae was preceded in death by her mother, step-dad, father, and five brothers. She is survived by her three children, Seth Pike (Ashley), Washington, Jerry Fullerton Jr. (Reyna) Texas, Michelle Dedeaux, Las Vegas, step-daughter Kristine Taylan, Reno, and grandchildren, Sophia Pike, Shayne Pike, D.J. Fullerton, Dyonna Dedeaux, Jake Dedeaux, Maddox Taylan, sisters Sherry Perkins (Dale), Jacquelyn Moore (Swayn) Debbie Stone, and brothers Trevor, Mitchell,and Eric Stone. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Memorial services will be held Friday, January 24, 2020 at 12:30PM at Church LV - Seven Hills, 3051 W Horizon Ridge Pkwy, Henderson, NV 89052. Following the service, a celebration of life will be held at Blume restaurant (Hashbrown) 3145 St Rose Pkwy, Ste.130, Henderson, NV 89052.
