Makonnen Askabe Mr. Makonnen Askabe, of Addis Abab, Ethiopia, born on October 4, 1943 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to the late Asegedch Semu Negus and the late Askabe Abera, passed away at age 75 on July 15, 2018 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He graduated from UNLV in 1980. He was in the Tourism/ Hospitality industry at Bellagio as a Hotel administration until retiring in 2012. Makonnen was preceded in death by his brother, Beranu; sisters, Fiikerte and Meseret; niece, Kidest; and nephew, Mamush. He is survived by his brothers, Aklilu and Admasu; sister, Samrawit; niece, Selam; and nephews, Tesfaye, Amare, Abera, Yohannes, Dawit, Gabriel, Dani, Eyob, Ermyas, Kidues, Getachew, Mussie, Semenehe, and Messie. Makonnen had a passion for traveling, music, sports. He was a born again Christian and Loved God. Friends and family can pay their respects at the celebration of life service, officiated by Tesfaye Tadesse, on Thursday, July 19 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Thomas and Jones Affordable Funeral Home, 2457 N.
