Michael Joseph Collison

Michael Joseph Collison, 80, of Las Vegas, passed away on January 4, 2025, in his home in Las Vegas, Nevada. Funeral services will be held at 9:20 AM on January 24, 2025, at the Southern Nevada State Veterans Cemetery (SNVMC) in Boulder City, Nevada. Antonio Cooper of Anchor Hill Church will officiate the Burial, which will follow a small ceremony in the main chapel at the same location. Thomas and Jones Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Michael J. Collison was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Edward H. Collison and Marie Vasquez on June 23, 1944. He married Navona Collison on January 1, 1995, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He worked as a salesman for most of his life at various companies, some of which he owned. He received multiple awards for being the top car salesman of the month and was eventually awarded his own parking spot because he never lost. He was a veteran and served in the Marine Corps, a service of which he was truly proud. Michael J. Collison is preceded in death by his father, Edward H. Collison; mother, Marie Collison; sisters, Linda, Norma, Muriel, and Edna Collison; and nephew William Collison. He is survived by his spouse, Navona Collison; daughters, Jeaniva Collison and her husband Matthew Rose, Jehnna Tambe and her husband DJ Tambe; son, James Simington and his wife Carrie Simington; brother, Edward “Sonny” Collison and his wife Joanne Collison; sister, Shellie Collison; grandchildren, Marissa Simington (29), Statlin Simington (15), Hudson Simington (12), Jadyn Tambe (21), and Story Tambe (13); nieces and nephews, Sonny Collison Jr, Lisa DeCunzo, Denise DeCunzo, Laura Lowndes, Bobby Lowndes; great niece and nephew, James Collison and Hailey Collison; and great-great niece and nephews, Bryce Collison, Navaeh Collison, and Mason Collison The pallbearers will be members of Michael Joesph Collison’s Family. He will be truly missed, and the time we shared will be cherished forever. I’ll leave you with his favorite verse: John 3:16: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. God’s Garden God looked around His garden, and found an empty space. He looked down upon the Earth, and saw your tired face. He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest. God’s garden must be beautiful, for He only takes the best. He knew that you were weary, He knew that you were in pain. He knew that you would never be well on Earth again. He saw the road was getting rough, and the hills were hard to climb. So He closed your weary eyelids and whispered “Peace be thine.” It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone, for parts of us went with you the day God called you home.
