Patricia Ann Woods

Ms. Patricia Ann Woods was born June 4, 1955, to the union of Mr. & Mrs. Willie and Sallie Mae Woods in East Chicago, IN. She later moved to Michigan and further along she moved to Las Vegas, NV where she remained until her final resting day. Ms. Woods (affectionately known as Pat) accepted Christ at an early age in East Chicago, IN. She received her formal education through the Indiana public school system until her junior year in high school. She began her senior year at Vaiden High, in Vaiden, MS where she graduated with the class of 1973. After graduation she moved to Flint, MI and enrolled into Mott Community College where she graduated in 1983 with her degree in Nursing. In that time, she met and formed a lifelong friendship with Rosemary Ward. While enrolled in college and two years after she worked at Beverly’s department store. In 1985 she began her Psychiatric Nursing career at Clinton Valley Center in Pontiac, MI where she worked until they closed in 1997. While employed there she forged bonds with Mr. and Mrs. Frederick and Rhonda Fortier, Dorothy, Shiann, Beverly, Sandy and Madeline; coworkers who became lifelong family and the women of this group became affectionately known as “The Girls.” Not excluding her Bonds with her CVC travel partners whom she shared plenty of memories with. After closing she continued her career at Hurley Community Mental Health in Flint, MI, until 2007. In 2007 she decided it was time for a change; in a city she loved and visited yearly…Las Vegas, NV! She moved to Nevada after obtaining employment with Rawson Neal Psychiatric Hospital where she worked for one year and retired for health reasons, which allowed her to live her retired life doing what she loved most…SHOPPING! Ms. Patricia Woods was a precious, rare gem who never encountered a person that she didn’t affect in a positive way. She had the most giving heart, and she gave with no thought of anything in return. She loved her music, her family, her friends and let’s not forget how much she loved to shop. There was almost nothing you needed that she didn’t have. She made sure she studied you and listened to your likes so she could provide. Her light was so bright, that it had to have come straight from the heavens. She was a loving soul who would give you the shirt off her back, or one of the many from her closet! Her presence, Her glow, Her love will forever be missed. She leaves a legacy of being a person who never really complained, saw the best in the worst people, called you out on your mess when you were wrong, yet still managed to love so many of us unconditionally! She was our Angel on Earth! Patricia Woods departed this life on Sunday, January 28, 2024, she was preceded in death by her Parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willie and Sallie Mae Woods; “Mom,” Henrietta Harrell; Grandparents, Louis and Nancy Hughes; Amos Woods and Bella B. Harris; Her brothers Michael, William, Perry, Bryant, Cornelius, Jerry and Maurice; Special Friends/Family, Mr. & Mrs. Jesse and Georgiann Otis, and “The Girls” Sandy, Beverly and Madeline. Ms. Woods leaves to cherish her memories, 4 sisters; Eunice, Lillian (Lindsey) Meeks of Chicago, IL; Peggy (Dale) Givens of Mississippi; Pamela Woods of Las Vegas, NV; Carmella Watson of Kansas City, KS; special niece/daughter Kristina (Taray) Elbert of Mount Morris, MI; Goddaughter Patishia Gardin of Las Vegas, NV. Special Friends/Family Rosemary, Frederick and “The Girls” Rhonda, Dorothy and Shiann. She leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
