Shevantae R. Jimmerson

Shevantae Raymond Jimmerson aka Tae was a soul that could light up a room. Whenever he was there, you knew there would be love, laughter, a little irritation, and lots of fun. He was truly the “life of the party” and touched every soul he met and left them with a story to tell. Born on November 21, 1982 to Melanie Allen at Southern Nevada Hospital, Tae has always been a fighter. He confessed his life to Christ on November 22, 1995 at St. Peter MB Church in Montrose, AR. Shevantae attended primary school at OK Adcock in Las Vegas, Nv. He went on to attend Lakeside Elementary, Lakeside Middle School and finally Lakeside High School. He was a part of the basketball team to which he had many friends and teammates turned family. He graduated from Lakeside High School in May 2001. He also met and had a relationship with Shawanda Tolliver and to this union, a daughter was born. In 2000, Shevantae enlisted in the Army National Guard. He completed his basic training within the services but was later honorably discharged due to health reasons. After his discharge, he then returned home to Las Vegas, NV to begin his adult life. During his adult life in Las Vegas, he formed a union with Latoya Jones, and to this union two additional daughters were born. While living Las Vegas, Tae began his work life at Saturn for several years. For the last 10 years, he was a valued employee and manager at H & H Discount Liquor to where he developed many friends and family relationships. He spoke often about all of his coworkers and especially his boss Nick. He remained there until his health would not permit him to work anymore. On March 15, 2021, after a long battle with health issues, Tae departed this life at Centennial Hills Hospital in Las Vegas, NV. He is proceeded in death by his maternal grandmother, Mary Ella Gray, maternal grandfather, Clarence Allen, a stepfather, Clarence Dowd, and step brother, Tyrie Barnett. He leaves to cherish in memory his mother, Melanie Dowd (David Barnett) of Las Vegas, NV. Father, Roy (Debra) Jimerson of Las Vegas, NV. Three daughters, Justice Jimmerson of Eudora, Ar, Shantae Jimmerson, and Lataevia Jimmerson of Las Vegas, Nv. Four sisters, Brandy Barnett, Shatoya Jimerson, Tyneisha Jimerson, and Dominique Barnett all of Las Vegas, Nv. Five brothers, Courtney(Catrina) Barnett of San Diego, Ca, Jarrell Dowd, Aaron Dowd, Omar Jimerson, and David Barnett Jr all of Las Vegas, Nv. Two special cousins Rayshonda Graves and Demario(Yuko) Jernigan who were raised as his siblings. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me.
