Victor Tyrone Blackwell

Victor T. Blackwell was born November 28, 1957, into the union of Mildred Jean Ward and John Blackwell in Morton, Mississippi. They later relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1958 where Victor went on to graduate from Las Vegas High School in 1975. He worked at the Nevada Test Site for (12) years and then began working in the hospitality industry on the Las Vegas Strip. He worked at the Riviera Hotel for (24) years as a Food Runner and Carver. After that venture he went on to work at Treasure Island as a Cook Helper for (13) years. Then following that, Victor began working for Caesars Entertainment Banquet Department with his home base at Bally’s Hotel. Although that was home, he worked at all of their properties, as well as, Mandalay Bay, MGM, and last but not least Sands Expo all as a Banquet Server. Victor was also a Master Mason. He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory, his wife, Jacqueline; his daughters, Asia and Crystal; his son, Cairo; his brother, Gregory Blackwell; his (8) grandchildren, Journey, Jax, Harlowe, Zion, Italy, Isaiah, Skylar, and Kingston; (2) sons-in-law, Steven Jackson and Chris Lowery, and his hope to be daughter-in-law, Jasmine, all of Las Vegas, Nevada. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends who all love him dearly. One night I had a dream. I was walking along the beach with the Lord, and across the skies flashed scenes of my life. In each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand. One was mine, and one was the Lord's. When the last scene of my life appeared before me, I looked back at the footprints in the sand, and to my surprise, I noticed that many times along the path of my life there was only one set of footprints. And I noticed that it was at the lowest and saddest times in my life. I asked the Lord about it. "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you would walk with me all the way. But I noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why you left my side when I needed you most." The Lord replied, "My precious child, I love you and would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, where you see only one set of footprints, I was carrying you."
