W illiam "Bill" Goree The Life and Legacy of our beloved: Musical Prelude Scripture Reading Acknowledgements Cards and Condolences William (Bill) Goree began his life of servanthood on September 10, 1948 and was the second born to Edward Goree Sr. and Dorothy Carruso-Goree (Toni) in Detroit, Michigan. He was baptized at a early age as a Catholic. He departed this life on September 9, 2018 at Nathan Adelson in Mountain View Hospital. William (Bill) Goree attended Eastern High School in Detroit, Michigan. He was a music enthusiast, enjoyed playing several instruments and listening to the Motown Greats from Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, Frankie Beverly and Maze, and others. He often would sing along with the Gap Band and summons family members to join in as he laughed out lous when a note was missed or was off tune. He enjoyed traveling , meeting people and sports of all kind with baseball stand out at Eastern High School. After Graduating high School in 1967, he was drafted and joined the Army and served his country with pride and distinction. He married the love of his life, the beautiful Coccine Goree and to his union two wonderful children, Christina and Ricard Goree were born. While in Vietnam, from 1967-1969 he served wth the 11th Armored Cavalrt Regiment Black-Horse Troop . Upon his return from his tour of duty, he began working at the Detroit Free Press and register for 30 plus years before retiring. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed Goree Sr., Dorothy Goree and sister, Nikki Carter (Clifford Carter Sr.). He is survived by his oldest Sister, ANnette Goree Mayfield (Zondra) of South Field, Michigan and brother, Pedro Goree (Peggy) of Las Vegas, Nevada. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Connie Goree, children, Christina and Ricardo Goree. Grandchildren, Arthur, Toni, Devin, Royce, Jasmin, Trinity, Tiara and Michaela. Great grandchildren: Breanna Lee Harris, Ayden James, and Akil Gamba. Nieces Diane Mayfield Boswell (Larry), Michele Mayfield Wells, Cherie Carter, and nephews Anthony Jude Goree (Lora), and Pedro Carter (Kim). He will be missed by a holst of relatives and friends.
