Bessie Lee Myles

Bessie Lee Myles was born on November 19, 1939, in Carthage, Arkansas, to the late Frank Walker and Jimmie Smith. From her earliest days, Bessie’s life was marked by love, faith, and compassion. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age, setting the foundation for a lifetime of kindness and grace. In 1962, Bessie made Las Vegas, Nevada her home, where she raised her children and created a life filled with laughter, perseverance, and joy. She worked many years as a fry cook, a job she performed with pride and dedication until her retirement in 2001. Known for her delicious cooking and generous heart, Bessie had a gift for bringing people together and making everyone feel special. After retiring, she began a new chapter—traveling, enjoying life, and cherishing every moment with her beloved family. She never met a stranger, saw the good in everyone, and shared her warm smile wherever she went. Her laughter and gentle spirit brightened every room she entered. Bessie’s faith remained her guiding light throughout her life. She lived by the principles of love, forgiveness, and humility, touching countless lives with her sincere heart and unwavering belief in God. Bessie Lee Myles leaves behind a lasting legacy of love and strength. She is survived by her devoted children: Sons: Sylvester Smith Jr. and William Norris Smith Daughters: Paula Brooks, Cresha Brooks, Miki Harrell, Niki (Rodney) Thomas, and Shirley Funchess She is also survived by her loving sisters, Susan Parks and Deborah Brown; brothers, Wendell Parks and Tracy Parks; and a very special cousin, Clifford Smith. She will also be lovingly remembered by a host of grandchildren,great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by three beloved children: Carl Edward Smith, Juanita Brooks, and Antoinette Crockett.
