Betty Jean Trimble

On March 17, 1957 a little girl was born prematurely to Arimentha Turner and Willie D. McMahon in Houston, Texas and they named her Betty Jean. She was the seventh of eleven children. Betty attended Stephen F. Austin High School in Houston. As a child she was a member of St. Emmanuel Baptist Church. As a young person Betty was very industrious, working several jobs in Houston, Texas. After a brief visit with her maternal grandmother Hester Turner in Bastrop, Louisiana in 1978 she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. In Las Vegas she worked at various casinos before her health declined and caused her to go out on disability. She met Maurice Trimble, her future husband, at her eldest sister's anniversary party. They married on the 5th of October in 1978. One son was born to this union, a Maurice Trimble, Jr. She was the proud grandmother to his eight children: Trinity Stephens, Jeremiah Trimble, Miracle Trimble, Enjolia Trimble, Essence Trimble, Mysheka Trimble and twins Genesis and Revelation Trimble. She had one great grandchild, Qxeen. She was an avid thrift store shopper. "Betty Boop" was also known for dumpster diving and had an eclectic taste. She was quite a loving family-oriented person and would keep her family on their toes with her lively personality. Betty Jean was preceded in death by her husband Maurice Trimble, Sr; parents Arimentha and Willie McMahon, sisters Willie Mae McMahon, Allene Davis and Shellie Jean Turner; uncles: Joe Robert McMahon, Johnny Wesley McMahon, Alfred Lee and Cleveland Lee, Jr.; aunts Erma Jean Lee-Brown and Iamphis Pettifote (Aunt Tootsie). Those left behind to cherish her memories include her son Maurice Trimble Jr. sisters: Mrs. Leola W. Doll of Las Vegas, Nevada, Mrs. Rosie D Coleman and Alice Faye Davis of Houston, Texas ; brothers: Joe Willie Griffin(Fanedrean) of Las Vegas, Nevada; Robert McMahon, Benjamin Ray Keith, Anthony McMahon and Thomas McMahon(Cassandra) of Houston, TX; aunts: Dorothy Loftis and Albertha M. Lee over 18 nieces and nephews and their offspring of whom she was so proud of. Special Thanks to Mr. Marvin King for the care and attention that he gave to his aunt. She enjoyed the time that she spent with Angela and her family in Houston. She talked about her visit with Kimone, her favorite birthday present. Being fed and squired around Houston by Rashemah and Julian also thrilled her.
