Eddie V. Bryant

Eddie V. Bryant Eddie Vernon Bryant was born on July 11, 1950, in Brooksville, Florida, to the late Eddie Bryant and Inez Bryant Pitts. He was the fifth of six children. One brother Randolph Bryant and one sister, Theresa Bryant Perkins proceeded him in death. Eddie and Brother Victor Dunn were warmly accepted into the late Mother Christine Thompson's family, as well as Mother Roena Turner and daughters family, which served as a continual source of consolation. Eddie attended and graduated from Moton High School in 1968, the school's final graduating class. Eddie was quite involved in school when he was there, playing the tuba in the band and participating in the Upward Bound Program. After being drafted into the USAF and serving seven years, Eddie was honorably discharged while stationed at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, NV. Las Vegas is where he chose to settle down and make and call his home. Eddies career continued to be one of service as a representative of the Human Resources Department for the City of North Las Vegas, NV. Eddie's easy ability to communicate and understand the importance of being an honest, caring citizen in his community lead him to this career. Eddie loved assisting through training and he successfully hired, encouraged and instructed countless numbers of people that had the opportunity to work for the City of North Las Vegas. Even after a successful career and retiring, Eddie returned to service as a consultant, because his knowledge was that extensive and the demand for his wealth of information was still necessary in the community. Eddie was a very loyal, passionate and devoted friend and developed lifelong relationships. Eddie had a zest for life, and he always enjoyed having a good time, whether he was with family or friends. Eddie was a man that everyone gravitated towards. His laughter was infectious and his character and personality made all who met him want to get to know him better. His spirit was joyful and that joy came from GOD above. Eddie was also a giving man and donated to many charities. His heart was BIG, and he was a member of several organizations throughout his life as well. Eddie would always say he was "Blessed Beyond Measure" by the "Greatest that Ever Lived.. GOD", and so he demonstrated this through his Time, Talents and Treasures and modeled the life of his Savior Jesus Christ. Eddie was a devoted member of Victory Missionary Baptist Church for many, many years, where he enjoyed attending the 8 a.m. service and could often be heard saying "Well" "Let the Church Say Amen" "Yeah Lord" and "Say That" from his favorite seat amongst the pews in the congregation. Eddie also enjoyed traveling, line dancing, playing cards, eating out enjoying "good" food and talking and laughing with the people he surrounded himself with. Eddie could stop conversations in a room with a grand entrance and his bigger than life voice and personality because he was just that amazing. On Tuesday, November 22, 2022, God called Eddie from work to reward. He was invited to come and take rest in his bosom. Eddie, affectionately known as Dad, Grandpa, Opaw, PopPop, Brother, Uncle, Best Friend, Friend and Confidant, leaves to cherish and celebrate his life one brother Robert Bryant (Josephine) of Bridgeport, CT. One son Elgin D. Sherman (Fellicia), Stafford, VA. Two God Brothers, A.J. Thompson (LaDonya) and Victor Dunn (Tonia), both of Las Vegas, NV. Three sisters Sarah Douglas of Trinity, FL, Mae Bryant of Los Angeles, CA, and Katie Bryant of Spring Hill, FL. Grandchildren Jered Sanders (Brittani), Fredericksburg, VA, Janovia Sherman and Sanovia Sherman, Atlanta, GA. Nieces Anita Yvette Scriven (Herman), Tanya Kincade (James) both of Brooksville, FL, Sonia Bryant of Stratford, CT, Daphne Douglas of Tampa, FL. Nephews James Perkins, Jr. of Brooksville, FL, John Bryant (Dale), Timothy Douglas both of Tampa, FL, Michael Douglas (Osa) of Hudson, FL. Many great nieces and nephews, just to name a few: Jamie Kincade (Karla), Herman “Cie” Scriven (Beatrice), Bryant Scriven (Diana), Brittany Scriven, and Jennipher Kincade. Eddie Left behind a host of friends to include Marcia Washington, The Turner Sisters, Janice Moore, Henrietta Thompson, Sally Burns, Booker Thompson, Lena Brass, Carmen Burney, Cassandra Bell, Anthony Collins, Brandon Oats, Cedric Williams, Clemon Carter, Phillip Collins, and Juma Suedi, along with a host of cousins, great-great nieces, great-grand children, nephews, and sorrowing friends. Remember Me In Quiet Days Remember me in quiet days, while raindrops whisper on your pane. Remember in your memories have no grief, let the joy we knew remain. Remember me if once you wake, to catch a glimpse of red sunrise. Remember when your thoughts do turn to me, know that I would not have you cry, but live for me, and laugh for me. When you are happy so am I. Remember an old joke we shared. Remember me when spring walks by. Think once of me when you are glad and while you live, I shall not die!
