Geraldine Marie Denman-Gray. Born Jan 30, 1961 Aztec NM / Died June 29, 2025 Las Vegas, NV peacefully during her sleep at 64 years young. She was the 6th of 8 children born to William James Denman and Kathleen Therese Denman. After 2 years, the Denmans moved from Aztec, NM to Pasadena, CA and then to Olympia, WA. At the age of 8 yrs old, Jerri moved to Anchorage, AK where she attended Gov’t Hill Elementary continuing on to East Anchorage HS where she was an all-star basketball player for 3 years straight graduating in 1979. She then accepted a basketball scholarship to the University of Hawaii, Oahu 80/81. After college, she returned to Alaska for a couple of years and played city league ball with her sister Cynthia. Still on the go, she moved to Glendale, AZ with her mother and sister Stephanie. She spent a couple of years working with “friends for life” Billie Smith and Donna Dorn while still playing city ball in Phoenix with Billie. Always on the move, an opportunity to work in Las Vegas, NV with her brother Guy in a metal refining lab came up and she took it. Shortly after being there, she met the love of her life Roy Gray and for both it seemed all the stars aligned. Roy and Jerri married, had two wonderful daughters Shelbie and Julianna whom she cherished being mom to. Jerri and Roy continued to reside in Nevada ever since where Jerri recently retired from the Las Vegas Convention Center in September of 2024 after 24 dedicated years of service. Those who had the opportunity to know or meet Jerri were often impressed by her powerful personality. Although her opinions may have been strong, they were always centered around the love for her family and friends. She loved sports all her life especially basketball primarily being an LA Lakers and Magic Johnson fan whom she even named a dog after. Her favorite color was always purple and thought “Prince” made music just for her only. Being a dog mom was always one of Jerri’s passions and in the months following retirement she made efforts online to help reunite lost pets with their owners. Jerri definitely left her mark wherever she went. She will always be loved and sorely missed. May God bless Jerri to her final destination. She is preceded by her parents William James and Kathleen Therese Denman and her brother Guy William Wong-Denman. She leaves behind her husband Roy Gray and daughters Shelbie and Julianna Gray, siblings Kim (Steve) Larrabee, Cynthia (Steve) Wells, Scott (Jane) Denman, Casey Denman, John (Aime) Lenzi and Stephanie (James) Williams, numerous nieces and nephews and beloved dogs Kai, Remi and Rusty. Friends for life, Karen Mushhat, Brenda Johnson, Donna Dorn, and Billie Smith. Additional memorial mass intention services will be held at St. Patricks’ Catholic Church in Anchorage, AK August 28th, 2025 1pm. Their will be an inurnment ceremony where she will be laid to rest beside her mother.
