Jamal Rachad Norris

With great sadness we announce the passing of Jamal Rachad Norris, 42, on Friday,December 16, 2022. Jamal was born on November 21, 1980, in Las Vegas, Nevada, to Joe and Alice Norris.He was the baby in the family, with an older sister Latonia, an older brother Demetrius,and a younger sister Lashunna, who passed away before they had a chance to meet onthis earth. Jamal accepted Christ at an early age. He was a humble and patient man who smiledoften and had a fun sense of humor. Jamal graduated from Basic High School where heplayed basketball, then continued to help coach the Henderson Wolves TravelingBasketball Team. His love for children, the community, and sports, led him to work at theBoys and Girls Club of Henderson, and also for the City of Henderson Cultural Arts andSpecial Events. Jamal and Danielle Norris had two children together who they adore; Imani and Isaiah.Jamal had a passion for music, sports, culture and art. He was a very talented artist andcontributed a lot of his talent to the City of Henderson Parks and Recreation Departmentin his 15 years of employment. He was a skilled graphic artist and recently worked forPLI Card Marketing Solutions, where he enjoyed his work family very much. Jamaltouched many lives and will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know him. Jamal leaves to cherish his memory to his two beloved children Imani Janelle Norrisand Isaiah Rachad Norris and their mother and best friend Danielle Truitt Norris, hismother Alice Taylor Norris, his father Joe L. Norris, his brother Demetrius D. Taylor, hissister Latonia Lindsey, and his many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. A celebration of Jamal’s life will be held on Friday, December 30, 2022, at the Thomasand Jones Funeral Home at Thomas and Jones Funeral Home (2457 N Decatur Blvd,Las Vegas, NV 89101) beginning promptly at 11:00am.
