Jerrol Lynn Williams

Jerrol Lynn Williams, born in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 5th, 1967, to Charles & Edna Williams, the youngest of 12 siblings, transitioned on November 7th, 2025 due to an ongoing battle with Pancreatic cancer. He was diagnosed in November 2024. He is preceded in death by his parents (Charles & Edna), and siblings Cynthia Williams, Charles E. Williams, Robert Williams, Michael Williams, & Ronald Williams. Jerrol is survived by his wife Samatra Garcia, his three children Jerrol Garcia-Williams, Jade Garcia-Williams and Jamell Garcia-Williams, and his sole grandchild Ja’dae Williams. In addition, he is mourned by his siblings Patricia Thomas, Rita Shavers, Joyce Williams, Sheila Gardner (Rodger), Al Williams, & Russel Williams as well as countless nieces and nephews. Jerrol graduated from Chaparral High School and received a full athletic scholarship to attend Purdue University where he played football and basketball for the Boilermakers. He decided to forgo his senior year to enter the 1989 NFL draft and was selected in the 4th round as the the 91st overall pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Jerrol played for the Steelers for three seasons, becoming a pivotal piece in their defense under the tutelage of Chuck Noll and Bill Cowher. Jerrol’s NFL career spanned seven seasons, playing for teams such as the San Diego Chargers, Kansas City Chiefs, Green Bay Packers, and the Baltimore Ravens in their inaugural season. He was a respected player and teammate, playing with many talented and storied teams, players, and coaches. After playing, Jerrol focused his attention on being a father, pouring into his children and being a mentor and coach to the countless lives he came across all over the Las Vegas area. Jerrol was known to many for various things. With the nickname “World”, his talents and interests spanned more than just athletics, allowing him to form connections with people from all walks of life. From being a business owner and entrepreneur with multiple different ventures, becoming a self taught barber, or simply being shoulder to lean on, “World” could do anything, with a larger than life personality that was infectious to be around.
