Lydia Green Armstrong

Lydia Green Armstrong Born March 4, 1935 Cleveland OH Died October 24, 2016 Las Vegas NV Lydia was born to Lula Jane Wysinger and Mr. James H Greene Sr. She had one brother, Mr. James H Greene Jr who preceded her in death. Lydia was educated at Cleveland Public Schools and later attended and graduated from Mather Boarding School in Beaufort SC, under the direction of the American Baptist Home Mission Society of New York, NY. Lydia furthered her education at Mott Community College in Flint MI earning her Certification as a Teacher's Aide. She received her CDA from Western Carolina. She worked for the Beecher Head Start Program in Flint Michigan before moving and becoming a Parent Teacher Educator for the State of Florida. Lydia married Eugene (Frank) Armstrong on June 26, 1959, who preceded her in death. Lydia is survived by Tyrone Armstrong, and Mecque of Las Vegas NV; Andrea and Ervin Allen of Detroit MI; Frank Armstrong Jr of Ocala FL; Zonzerae and Terry Watson of Killeen TX; Deszerae Glover of Jacksonville, FL; Crispus and Sharron Armstrong of Dallas, TX. Step Daughters Rita and Peter Bunton and Regina and Kevin Green of MI. Her surviving grandchildren are Jerrell Armstrong, Marlia Cox, Alvin Hooten, Malcolm and Eddie Glover Javoris and Jonquese Jordan, Essence Watson, Justin and Kyle Armstrong, Donnie Davis, Xavier and Sumaiya Armstrong, Ann Lydia Armstrong, Miya Armstrong, Tyrell Armstrong, Frank Armstrong III, and Quentin Rex, Great Grandchildren Ronnie Keener, Makyla Williams, Aleena Cox, Azjhanae McGraw, Trevion Williams, Leniyla Porterico, Angel Armstrong and Jadon, Donovan and Isaiah Davis. Lydia is also survived by her cousins Walter Rutherford, Merle Green, Garland Green of Cleveland Ohio and Clarence(Chappie)Munford of Guelph Canada. Mother Armstrong was a faithful servant of our Lord Jesus Christ. She was baptized at St. Timothy's Missionary Baptist Church in Cleveland OH. She attended the Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church in Flint MI; the New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church in Ocala FL; the Greater Vision Church in Killeen TX before attending the Desert Harvest Baptist Church in Las Vegas NV. Lydia was a member of the Eastern Star Federated of Flint MI and the Les Fidelis Federated Women's Club of Ocala FL Lydia Armstrong will be laid to rest at Palm Cemetery Northwest Las Vegas NV.
