Born on July 16, 1979, in Detroit, Michigan, Martell’s journey through life was marked by his unwavering dedication to his family, his faith, and his community. Raised in Detroit, Martell graduated from Highland Park High School, where he began forging his path with determination and a caring spirit. His career took him from the bustling environment of UPS to the life-saving mission of the American Red Cross, where he touched countless lives with his commitment and compassion. Martell’s unwavering love for God shaped every facet of his life. His faith provided him not only with strength and guidance but also with a profound sense of purpose. He lived his life as a testament to God’s grace, dedicating himself to acts of kindness and spreading positivity wherever he went. Through his prayers, fellowship, and heartfelt conversations, Martell reflected the love of God and inspired others to embrace their spirituality. Family was at the heart of everything Martell did. He was a devoted husband to Mari, and together they built a life filled with love and laughter. As a father, he cherished his daughters, Mori (Baby Girl) and Miracle, teaching them the values of kindness and perseverance. To his wife Mari, he was not only a partner but a pillar of faith and devotion, and to his daughters, he was their guiding light, always teaching them to walk in love and gratitude. The family prayers he led, the stories of faith he shared, and the joyful moments spent together will remain etched in their hearts as a reflection of his enduring devotion. Martell loved cooking, drawing, singing, and making music. His creativity and passion shone brightly in all he pursued. He joined a brotherhood of talented artists called Unda Dog Camp (UNC), where he found community and expressed himself through the shared love of music and art. His family extended beyond his immediate household, as he was a cherished brother to Aletta Suell-Henderson, LaWanda Suell-Hamilton, Virginia M. Williams, Larry Smith, and Willie Demps Jr., a cherished nephew, uncle, cousin, friend, and a beloved member of his community. Martell was predeceased by his parents, Josie R. Suell-Taylor and Larry Suell Sr., his bonus dad, Leon Taylor, his brother Larry Suell Jr., and his nephew Layvon Suell, all of whom he held dear in his heart. Despite these losses, he continued to embody a spirit of resilience and warmth, always willing to lend a hand or offer a word of encouragement to those in need. His friends and family remember Martell as a man loved by many, someone who never hesitated to help anyone. His legacy is one of love, compassion, creativity, and a genuine commitment to making the world a better place.
