Thomas Simpson

Scripture: Isaiah 41;10, 13 Obituary: Thomas Simpson was born May 20th, 1950 to Thomas B. Simpson and Bertha Mae Simpson in Crossett, Arkansas. Thomas moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1954 where he was raised by his father and grandparents, Rosie Dell and Willie James Simpson. As a child, Thomas was very active and mischievous earning the nickname of “Booger”. He attended Boys Tech high school and eventually graduated from North Division High School in 1968. Soon after graduation, Thomas entered the United States Navy in 1969, where he served on the USS Hancock until 1975. Thomas met the love of his life, Jannie, in August of 1971 and they were married in December. Their first daughter Jeneen was born in 1974 in San Leandro, CA. Soon after her birth, Thomas and family moved back to Milwaukee. Thomas and Jannie continued to expand their family with the additions for Jenelle in 1979 and Jenna in 1984. Thomas was a hard worker and retired from General Motors after 20+ years. Thomas moved to Henderson, NV with his family in 2008 where he spent the remainder of his time.In his younger years he had a love for dressing up, music, entertaining family and friends, basketball and fishing trips. He would spend his weekends blasting his “oldies” and making his favorite pot roast in the slow cooker. Later in life, Thomas found pleasure in spending time with his family and grandkids, having talks with Jannie and reminiscing about the old times, talking about current events, trivia, and sports with his “son” Dorian, talking to his grandsons about “life”, and thinking of ways to spoil the youngest grandbabies. Thomas Simpson departed this life on January 20th, 2020. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jeneen Simpson; his father, Thomas B. Simpson; his brother James L. Moore; his grandmother, Rosie Dell Simpson; his grandfather, Willie James Simpson; his mother, Bertha Mae Simpson; and sister, baby Elizabeth. Thomas leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory, mother of his children Jannie Simpson, daughters; Jenelle (Dorian Sr.) McAllister, and Jenna (Seville Sr.) Jackson, brothers; James (Pacita) Simpson, and Dennis (Georgette) Pelt, grandchildren Amber (Roy) Petry-Pflieger, Christopher Spears, Chantel McAllister, Monice McAllister, Dorian McAllister Jr., Robert Petry Jr., Jakob Petry, Trevaughn McAllister, Seville Jackson Jr., Ibraheem Ibn Abdul Jaleel, Jaisha Jackson, Jaxon McAllister, AvaRose Truitt, Joy Jackson, Deliah McAllister and Desiree’ McAllister, son-in-laws Robert Petry Sr. and Michael Truitt, among a host of family and friends.
